ANIMAL WELFARE

We are the leader in marine and polar animal raising, welfare and veterinary care in China. We currently host China's largest marine animal collection, as well as in house industry-leading expertise in animal protection. Currently we care for over 30 species of marine and polar life, which amount to more than 500 marine animals and more than 47,000 fish. This includes whale sharks, sand tiger sharks, hammerhead sharks in addition to more than 10 kinds of large sharks, emperor penguins and other six varieties of penguins, four species of seal and sea lions, three species of dolphins, and beluga whales, (pseudorca crassidens) false killer whales, walruses, polar bears and other large marine animals.

In terms of animal rearing, we have developed a system to monitor and protect, by building individual archives for animals, and analyzing data on a regular basis we are better able to understand trends and identify early signs of problems. We monitor the whole raising and feeding process from fodder acquisition, inspection, storage, and processing to feeding. We have developed a highly advanced animal disease prevention measurement system, and continue to increase investment in improving veterinary medical technology and medical facilities. As a matter of best practice, we ensure the simulation of a more natural living environment, matching the appropriate animal population size and sex composition. There is also always a technical team composed of professionals responsible for animal nutrition, health and care on-site that carry out continuous research on the environment and its effect on animal behavior.

Based on our leading position in the industry and abundant experience in wildlife conservation, we are responsible for the drafting of a number of national aquatic animal feeding industry standards, including the "National Occupational Standards of Aquatic Mammal Trainers", "The Course of Aquatic Mammal TrainersБ─², "Aquarium Aquatic Mammals Medical Record-Keeping Norms", "Aquatic Mammals Rearing Facility Requirements", "Aquarium Aquatic Mammals Feeding Water Quality", "Aquatic Mammals Pedigree Recording Norms" and "Cetaceans Transportation Operating Instruction", amounting to more than ten industry standards.
